BMSIT in plain terms.
BMS Institute of Technology & Management opened in 2002 as the second engineering campus under the BMS Educational Trust, the same group that runs BMSCE. The Yelahanka campus is large, well-kept, and the entrance test scores it attracts sit in the upper-middle band of Bengaluru's autonomous colleges. The trust's reputation gives BMSIT recruiter access that newer colleges don't enjoy.
Rank-wise, BMSIT sits a notch below MSRIT and DSCE but ahead of most second-tier VTU colleges. Management-quota CSE here is around ₹26 lakh for four years — sizeable, but well below the RVCE and PES band. For families weighing brand against budget, BMSIT is one of the more sensible middle choices in the city.
Three intake routes feed every branch: KCET for Karnataka domicile candidates, COMEDK for the all-India pool, and the management quota for direct admission. We help families choose between them based on rank, branch preference and timing.
Who BMSIT suits
- Students with mid-band KCET or COMEDK ranks exploring engineering branches at BMSIT (refer to past-year cutoffs as indicative reference).
- Families wanting Bengaluru placements without paying RVCE-level fees.
- Candidates from outside Karnataka using COMEDK or the management route.
Management quota — how we run it

What students and parents told us.
Excerpts from families we've worked with. Names initialised; full attribution available on request.
"Hostel is good, food is decent, and the campus itself is far from city traffic which I actually liked. CSE faculty are sincere even if the curriculum is VTU-standard."
"I joined ECE through COMEDK. Got placed in a core electronics firm in 7th sem. Lab access and project guidance were the strongest parts."
"We went the management route for CSE. eAdmision walked us through the year-on-year payment plan and the trust's process was clean."
BMSIT FAQs.
What's the management-quota fee for CSE at BMSIT?
Total comes to ₹26 lakh over four years — ₹6.5 lakh annually. AI & ML is ₹22 lakh and CSBS is ₹18 lakh.
Is BMSIT and BMSCE the same college?
No. Both are run by the BMS Educational Trust but are separate institutions. BMSCE is the older Basavanagudi campus; BMSIT is the Yelahanka campus established in 2002.
How does BMSIT compare to MSRIT or DSCE?
BMSIT sits just below MSRIT and DSCE in cutoff rank and placement averages. The campus and infrastructure are newer though, which some families prefer.
When do management seats open?
Usually from June after the KCET and COMEDK rounds. CSE and AI/ML close earliest — typically within 4–6 weeks of opening.
