CMRIT in plain terms.
CMRIT was set up in 2000 on AECS Layout, off ITPL Main Road. The campus sits inside the IT corridor — Whitefield, Marathahalli and the Outer Ring Road tech parks are all within reach. For families targeting Bengaluru's east-side recruiters, the location is a clear advantage.
On the fee ladder this is a tier-2 option. A management seat in CSE or one of its specialisations costs ₹24 lakh over four years, while ECE settles around ₹16 lakh. The figures are predictable — CMRIT publishes a flat per-year fee and sticks to it.
Three counselling channels feed the seat pool and the fee you end up paying depends on which one admits you. We use the first call to figure out which route makes most sense for your child.
Three ways in
- KCET (~45%): Karnataka domicile, KEA centralised counselling, lowest fee bracket.
- COMEDK (~30%): Open to all states, COMEDK UGET counselling, around ₹52,000 per year — the cheapest channel at CMRIT.
- Management (~25%): Direct admission via the college, open across India, highest fee.

- Share marks, branch interest and budget with us by phone or form.
- Counsellor call — we map out a realistic shortlist at CMRIT plus backups.
- College reviews the file and issues a provisional offer.
- Document verification, fee payment, joining letter.
The CSE pair (regular and AI/ML) closes earliest — usually by the third week of July.

Eligibility.
CMRIT accepts students through all three Karnataka channels. Filing under two channels in parallel gives the best chance of landing the branch you want.
KCET
- Class 12 passed with Physics, Maths and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotech or Computer Science.
- Minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC Karnataka).
- Karnataka domicile — at least seven years of schooling in the state.
- Valid KCET rank for the current admission year.
COMEDK
- Class 12 with Physics, Maths and a third science.
- Minimum 45% aggregate (40% SC/ST).
- No domicile restriction — students from any state can apply.
- Valid COMEDK UGET rank.
Management quota
- Class 12 with PCM and a third science subject.
- Around 50% aggregate, with some flexibility by branch.
- JEE Main, KCET or COMEDK score useful but not mandatory.
- Subject to seat availability — refer to the institution for the current cycle.

CMRIT runs an active placement cycle through the year. Most students see their first offer by November, with IT services driving the volume and a smaller set of product companies showing up for CSE and ECE toplines.

What does the management seat cost for CSE?
The indicative four-year management fee for CSE and its specialisations (AIML, Data Science) is ₹24 lakh, paid as ₹6 lakh per year. Verify the current fee notification with the institution. Final numbers come out in the May notification.
Is the COMEDK fee really only ₹52,000 a year?
Yes — the published COMEDK structure works out to around ₹2.08 lakh over four years. This is one of the lowest COMEDK fee brackets in the CMRIT–DSCE–MVIT cluster.
How do CSE, CSE (AI/ML) and AI & ML differ?
CSE is the core branch. CSE (AI/ML) is CSE with AI/ML specialisation electives. AI & ML is a standalone branch with an AI-first curriculum. Recruiter response across the three is comparable for service companies; product companies tend to favour core CSE.
