NHCE, briefly.
New Horizon College of Engineering sits on Outer Ring Road in Marathahalli, right next to one of Bengaluru's busiest IT corridors. It started in 2001, became a VTU-autonomous institution along the way, and is NAAC A+ accredited. The location alone is a working advantage — Whitefield, Bellandur and the EPIP belt are all a short ride away, which keeps internship and recruiter footfall steady through the year.
NHCE is a tier-2 private college in the Bengaluru landscape. It does not compete with RVCE or PESIT for top KCET ranks, but it offers a workable mid-fee path into a B.E. seat in computer science, AI/ML or data science. Most parents we speak to consider NHCE alongside DSCE, NMIT, CMRIT and BMSIT — the comparison usually comes down to fee, branch availability and home location.
Admission runs through three channels: KCET (state quota for Karnataka domicile students), COMEDK (open to candidates across India), and the management quota (direct admission via the college). For the 2026–27 cycle the management seat for CSE is around ₹14 lakh total over four years.
Who this college suits
- Families looking at a Bengaluru engineering seat without RVCE-level fee ladders.
- Students whose COMEDK or KCET rank is mid-range and who want CSE / AI-ML rather than a core branch.
- Anyone prioritising proximity to the East Bengaluru IT belt for internships during the degree.
The three routes
- KCET: Karnataka domicile, KEA centralised counselling, lowest fee.
- COMEDK: Open across India, COMEDK UGET counselling, fee follows the COMEDK schedule released by the consortium each cycle.
- Management quota: Direct admission through the college, highest fee, useful when KCET / COMEDK ranks don't land the branch you want.

The table below is the management-quota fee structure as shared by the college for the current cycle. KCET and COMEDK fees are separate — we've added a note after the table.

Note on the COMEDK channel: the COMEDK fee for NHCE is not part of this management sheet. COMEDK seats are charged at the consortium's annual fee notification — typically released by COMEDK shortly before counselling. Ask us for the latest figure when you enquire.
KCET quota
- Lowest fee channel, governed by KEA. Karnataka domicile required.
- Exact branch-wise fee published by KEA at the start of counselling each year.
Eligibility.
Most NHCE applicants we work with check eligibility under at least two routes in parallel. Here is the standard checklist.
KCET
- Class 12 / 2nd PUC pass with Physics and Maths plus one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Computer Science.
- 45% aggregate (40% for SC / ST / OBC Karnataka category).
- Karnataka domicile — seven years of study in the state.
- Valid KCET 2026 rank.
COMEDK
- Class 12 pass with Physics, Maths and a third science subject.
- 45% aggregate (40% for SC / ST).
- Open to candidates from any Indian state.
- Valid COMEDK UGET 2026 rank.
Management quota
- Class 12 pass with PCM and minimum 50% aggregate (relaxed for SC / ST).
- JEE Main / KCET / COMEDK score helps but is not mandatory.
- Subject to seat availability — CSE and AI/ML close earliest.
Placements, 2024–25.
Placement activity at NHCE is steady rather than spectacular. The IT services majors visit regularly, with the bulk of offers landing in the ₹5–8 LPA range. Top offers for CSE and AI/ML have been in the ₹18–25 LPA band in recent years.
Regular recruiters
Branch-wise indicative averages
- Computer Science Engineering — ₹6–8 LPA.
- AI & ML / Data Science — ₹6–9 LPA.
- Information Science — ₹5–7 LPA.
- ECE — ₹4–6 LPA.
- EEE / Mechanical — ₹3.5–5 LPA.
Figures are indicative and based on counsellor estimates plus public reporting. Treat them as a working range, not a guarantee.
What students and parents told us.
Short notes from families we have worked with on NHCE admissions. Names initialised.
"Marathahalli location was the main reason I picked NHCE over a college in north Bengaluru. Got an internship in second year through a senior — that wouldn't have been as easy elsewhere."
"Faculty for AI/ML core subjects is decent. Lab infrastructure is fine. Cultural life is on the quieter side — depends on what you're looking for."
"The fee was the deciding factor. eAdmision walked us through the year-on-year breakdown and helped us plan the loan rather than scrambling each semester."
NHCE FAQs.
What is the management quota fee for CSE at NHCE?
Indicative total over four years is ₹14 lakh — ₹3.5 lakh per year. AI/ML and Data Science are at the same rate. Information Science is lower at ₹12 lakh total. Verify the current fee notification with the institution.
Does NHCE accept COMEDK?
Yes. NHCE participates in COMEDK UGET. The COMEDK fee follows the consortium's annual schedule rather than the management sheet shown above.
Is hostel available?
Yes, separate boys and girls hostels are run by the institution. Capacity is limited — refer to the institution for current allocation procedures.
When does management admission close?
The management admission window typically runs from June through August. Refer to the institution's published timeline for the current cycle.
