PESCE Mandya, plainly.

PES College of Engineering in Mandya was set up in 1962 and is one of the older engineering colleges in Karnataka. It is government-aided and VTU-affiliated. Note carefully — this is the Mandya college on the Mysuru–Bengaluru highway, not the PES University campus in Bengaluru. The two are unrelated for admission purposes, despite the shared "PES" name.

Because PESCE is a government-aided institution, its fee structure is set under the KEA framework. The annual tuition fee across CSE, ISE, ECE, EEE and other branches is approximately ₹51,528, which works out to a four-year total in the ₹2 lakh range. That is roughly one-tenth of the fee at a private Bengaluru college for the same B.E. degree.

The trade-off is location and brand pull. Mandya is about 100 km from Bengaluru, on the highway to Mysuru. Recruiter footfall is lower than at a Bengaluru campus, and the college's biggest strength is its alumni in the Karnataka government sector and PSU companies. For families where fee is the binding constraint, PESCE is one of the best-value engineering seats in Karnataka.

Who PESCE suits

  • Karnataka KCET candidates whose rank is good enough to land an aided seat — usually a meaningful saving over private colleges.
  • Families where the four-year cost is a hard constraint.
  • Students happy to live in Mandya and travel for internships, or who plan to write GATE / civil services after the degree.

How admission works

PESCE intake is dominated by KCET. Seats are allotted through KEA's centralised counselling. There is no separate COMEDK or management quota route on the documents we work from — apply via KCET if you are eligible.

Courses & fees, 2026–27.

PESCE has a single government-aided fee structure across the listed branches. Annual fee per the document is ₹51,528, total four-year fee ₹2,06,111. The exact rupee figure may move slightly each year based on the KEA notification, but the order of magnitude is stable.

Note on other routes: the document we work from lists only this single aided fee structure. PESCE does not publish a separate COMEDK or management fee sheet in the same way that private autonomous colleges do. If you do not have a Karnataka domicile or KCET rank, treat PESCE as out of reach for the current cycle and look at private alternatives instead.

Eligibility.

PESCE Mandya is a KCET-route seat. The eligibility rules are the standard ones set by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

KCET

  • Class 12 / 2nd PUC pass with Physics and Maths plus one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics or Computer Science.
  • 45% aggregate (40% for SC, ST and Karnataka OBC categories).
  • Karnataka domicile — seven years of study in the state, with corroborating documents.
  • Valid KCET 2026 rank.

How the KEA process runs

  • Apply for KCET through KEA before the deadline (usually January–February).
  • Write the KCET exam and download your rank when KEA publishes results.
  • Complete document verification at the designated KEA centre on the assigned date.
  • Participate in option entry — list PESCE branches in priority order along with other colleges you'd consider.
  • Allotment is published in rounds. Pay the fee and report to the college within the window once you accept an allotment.

KEA option entry is the deciding step. We help families build a realistic option list — order matters more than the number of choices.

Placements, 2024–25.

PESCE is a smaller-town aided college, and placement numbers reflect that. The IT services majors visit, but the campus does not see the volume that a Bengaluru-based RVCE or DSCE attracts. Many students convert internships outside the campus drive, or write GATE for higher studies and PSU jobs.

Branch-wise indicative averages

  • CSE / ISE / Data Science / AI-ML — ₹4–6 LPA.
  • ECE — ₹3.5–5 LPA.
  • EEE / Civil — ₹3–4.5 LPA.

Figures are indicative. PESCE alumni often pursue GATE / civil services / Karnataka PSU exams alongside campus placements, which the placement rate doesn't fully capture.

What students and parents told us.

Excerpts from families we have helped with PESCE admissions over recent cycles.

"The fee was the deciding factor for our family. Mandya is quiet but Bengaluru is two hours by bus — I went for weekend hackathons regularly."

"Faculty for the older core branches is solid — many have been teaching here for decades. Lab equipment is dated in places but adequate."

"We wanted an aided seat and PESCE came through KEA option entry. The total four-year fee is what we'd pay in one semester at a private college."

PESCE FAQs.

Is PESCE the same as PES University in Bengaluru?

No. PESCE Mandya is a government-aided VTU-affiliated college, very different from PES University in Bengaluru. They share a name and historic connection but operate as separate institutions with separate admission processes.

What is the total four-year fee?

Approximately ₹2,06,111 across all branches as per the current sheet — annual fee around ₹51,528. KEA may revise the figure marginally each year.

Does PESCE have a management quota?

The document we work from does not list a separate management fee. PESCE intake is via KCET / KEA counselling. If you do not have a KCET rank or Karnataka domicile, this college is unlikely to be a route for you.

Is hostel available?

Yes — boys and girls hostels on or near campus, with a separate hostel fee. Hostel admission is handled after seat confirmation.
