REVA University

REVA, briefly.

REVA University was established in 2012 as a private state university in Karnataka and operates from a large campus on Yelahanka–Doddaballapur road in north Bengaluru. It is UGC-recognised, NAAC A+ accredited, and runs B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, law and design programmes. The campus is one of the bigger private university footprints in Bengaluru — over 45 acres, modern blocks, and decent residential facilities for outstation students.

As a private university, REVA does not participate in KCET or COMEDK counselling. Admission runs through REVA's own entrance test (commonly called REVA-EE) plus the management seat route. Government counselling does not apply here — there is no KEA quota and no COMEDK quota at REVA. This is the most important practical point for families used to engineering colleges that participate in central counselling.

In the Bengaluru market, REVA sits in the tier-2 private band. CSE management quota lands around ₹26 lakh total over four years, which is comparable to BMSIT CSE and a touch below RVU. AI/ML and Data Science variants run slightly higher.

Who REVA suits

• Families looking at a private university B.Tech rather than a VTU-affiliated college — REVA awards its own degree.
• Students from outside Karnataka who do not have COMEDK or KCET ranks but want a Bengaluru seat.
• North Bengaluru residents — the Yelahanka location is convenient for the airport corridor and Hebbal belt.

Routes into REVA

• REVA Entrance Examination (REVA-EE): Online test conducted by the university. Most B.Tech seats are allocated through this and 12th-board merit.
• Management quota: Direct admission for candidates with the required 12th-grade marks. Useful when you don't want to write the entrance.
• JEE Main / KCET / COMEDK scores: Accepted in lieu of REVA-EE in many cases, with merit-based scholarships for high scorers.

Note on COMEDK: REVA is a private university with its own intake and is not part of the COMEDK consortium. If you have only a COMEDK rank and no other documentation, REVA admission still runs through its own process — your COMEDK score may be considered for scholarships but does not place a seat.

The table below is the management-quota fee structure shared by REVA for the current cycle. There is no separate COMEDK schedule for REVA — the university handles its own intake — so this is the primary reference.

REVA-EE merit candidates and direct-admission candidates use the structure above; scholarships against JEE / KCET / COMEDK scores may reduce these figures for high scorers.

Eligibility.

REVA admission is driven by the university's own process, so eligibility differs from VTU-affiliated colleges.

REVA Entrance Examination (REVA-EE)

• Class 12 / 2nd PUC pass with Physics, Maths and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotech, Computer Science or Electronics.
• Minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC / ST).
• Valid REVA-EE score for the current cycle. The test is online and is held in multiple slots between March and June.
• Open to candidates across India — no domicile requirement.

Score-based admission

• JEE Main, KCET or COMEDK scores accepted in lieu of REVA-EE for most B.Tech programmes.
• High scorers are considered for merit scholarships ranging up to 50% of tuition.
• 12th-board marks above the cutoff (typically 60% for CSE-family branches) can also be sufficient at the management-direct route.

Management / Direct admission

• Class 12 pass with PCM and minimum 50% aggregate.
• No entrance test required for this route.
• Subject to seat availability — refer to the institution for the current cycle.

Placements, 2024–25.

REVA has been investing in its placement cell since around 2018 and the numbers have improved steadily. The IT services majors visit reliably each year, with a smaller but growing presence from product companies and analytics firms.
